Content is Critical to your Online Success

While Niche Marketing has taken the forefront in the world of Internet marketing, there is a quiet power that underlies your long term success. And that's content.
Why is content so important?
Because that's what everyone is looking for! Surveys show repeatedly that people go online looking for information - for content. And those who provide it will get the traffic.
Search engines have recognized this - and are rewarding those with content. In fact, they are actively seeking content by looking for site blogs and news feeds. And naturally they continue to love sites that provide good content.
So how do you cash in on this frenzy for content? There are three steps to providing great content. In this article we'll discuss step 1. The remaining 2 steps will appear in next week's Online Success News.
Step 1: Gather Content
The most obvious approach is to write articles. Articles for online consumption don't need to be long. In fact, 300 words is enough to satisfy a search engine, although people are often looking for 500 to 700 words.
If you don't enjoy writing, why not record it? You can easily use a service like idictate.com. After setting up an account, you pick up the phone, dial a toll-free number and punch in your code, then record. Within a few hours the transcript of your recording is in your inbox. It's a nice alternative to sitting at the keyboard.
The biggest drawback to writing (or recording) your ownarticles is that it's time-consuming and it's limited by your expertise or research time. So if you're not an expert on parrots, but you're constructing a niche site on parrots, you either have to hire a ghostwriter or you have to locate existing content. Either way it will cost you time or money.
That brings us to our next alternative. You can use article sothers have written. You can find targeted content by using a service like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com or a search for "articles your topic" in your favorite search engine. Many of these articles allow you to reprint them.
Want a lot of content quickly? There are new packages of public domain materials that you can leverage for your own use. But again, it is time-consuming to clean up these materials, modernize them and put them into article format.
My favorite approach is to buy ready-to-use articles that are already formatted as articles. You just add your resource box and you're ready to publish. For an example of this approach, see http://www.ArticleQuickStart.com
Once you have your content - then what? Tune into our next issue for Steps 2 and 3.
